Riverside Art Museum show opening:  “Eve Wood: Mostly Birds (and a Few Humans)”

Please join me for the opening of my first museum show on Saturday, November 2nd, 4-6 PM at the Riverside Art Museum.  Titled “Mostly Birds (and a Few Humans)” the show will include gouache paintings, graphite drawings, and other works on paper featuring birds.  Here’s a quote from the museum website:  “Birds have occupied a central place in Wood’s consciousness since she can remember. Her hope is that a young person will see her ‘drawings and be changed in some small way — if only to pay better attention to the living world around them.’ Dark and sardonic with a touch of humor, Wood depicts the human conundrum of being alive and trying to navigate this planet with other humans.”  Many of the pieces in the show also appear in my book, Remarks on Color, DoppelHouse Press, 2023.  The show will be on view from October 26, 2024 through March 30, 2025 –in case you can’t make it to opening night.

I’ll also be doing a poetry reading at the Riverside Art Museum on February 9, 2025.  Stay tuned for further details closer to the date.
